Does an ALR Screen Work in Daylight?
Yes, an ALR screen can make a projector more usable in daylight, but the result depends heavily on where the daylight comes from. A screen can reject or redirect some off-axis light; it cannot selectively remove sunlight that arrives from the same useful optical direction as the projector.

Best-case daylight conditions
A UST lenticular screen is well suited to rooms where the dominant nuisance light comes from above and where direct sun does not strike the screen. Curtains that soften side windows can improve the result dramatically even if the room remains bright.Hardest daylight conditions
Direct sunlight on the screen is extremely bright compared with projected light. A window close to the projector or screen axis can also reduce the benefit of directional rejection. No ALR percentage should be treated as permission to ignore these conditions.

View Current OfferProjector brightness still matters
A larger image spreads available light across more area. A 132-inch screen therefore asks more from the projector than a 100-inch screen. If daytime use is a priority, projector output and screen size have to be considered together. What the 95% claim means
NothingProjector markets the featured screen with a 95% ambient-light-rejection figure, especially around overhead light. Treat that as a manufacturer specification under its test conditions, not a guarantee that 95% of every light source in your room will vanish.Practical room strategy
Use the ALR screen as one layer of control. Add adjustable shades, avoid placing lamps near the projector axis, use dimmable overhead lighting and choose darker furnishings near the screen if practical.
